When Nebraska Early Development Network reached out regarding a family in need, Christ Child Omaha was able to answer the call! Service Coordinator, Kate Addison, was working with a family who had one child with special needs and twins on the way. The family had little money to spare on baby necessities, so Kate asked if we could provide the family with two layette bags.
Layette bags are backpack-style baby bags filled to the top with everyday newborn essentials, such as diapers, onesies, a thermometer, and a lovingly hand sewn blanket to name a few. Kate was able to deliver the layette bags to the family just a few hours after her request. The family was so grateful and commented on how fortunate they felt receiving the bags and were thankful they were able to put the money they saved on baby items toward necessary bills.
