The 2024 Christ Child Society’s annual Soirée on October 3rd was marked by a spirit of friendship and a collective desire to support vulnerable families in our community. Over 200 guests gathered for social hour and then moved into the beautifully decorated ballroom of Happy Hollow Club to enjoy a delicious dinner and inspirational program.
Ann and Ed Batchelder were Soirée Chairpersons, and Lois and Oscar Christensen served as Honorary Chairpersons. We are grateful for the many years of service both couples have given Christ Child.
A new video highlighted our four programs: scholarships, layettes, car seats, and literacy. A 2024 Christ Child graduate from College of Saint Mary shared the impact of her scholarship on her life and what her kids now see as possible for themselves.
Following the video presentation, Emcee Tim Reed, joined by friends Walter Duda and Dan Hanus,
fired up the guests by singing and dancing to “Dancing Queen” with lyrics modified to “give some green…generously…we will buy onesies!” Guests responded generously, raising their paddles to contribute to a successful event. Funds raised will provide essential resources and educational opportunities to young mothers and families in service of the Christ Child.
