Lemonade Stand
After volunteering at a Christ Child Omaha car seat giveaway, Maeve and Hudson, the children of Board Member Katie Blakeman, were inspired to give back to their community. Along with their cousins, Emerson and Elliett Hogeland, they set up a lemonade stand, donating all proceeds to Christ Child Omaha. To increase their impact, mom Kelli Hogeland’s employer doubled every dollar raised! Maeve said, “I felt so good knowing that all this money we made was going to a good cause. Christ Child is amazing helping all these moms and organizations. People don’t realize how expensive baby essentials are. While I volunteered this summer, I realized that, and I knew I needed to donate more than my time. Which is exactly why my cousins and I did this lemonade stand. We wanted Christ Child to be seen and to help those who really need help.” Christ Child Omaha is touched by their thoughtfulness!
Confirmation Projects
When it came time to choose a nonprofit organization to report on for their 8th-grade Confirmation project, five Christ the King students knew they wanted to spotlight Christ Child Omaha. Each student created a tri-fold board showcasing the history and mission and explaining what each nonprofit stands for. It was inspiring to see that the students chose to highlight Christ Child Omaha! After their presentations, the detailed boards became the perfect backdrop to display at this year’s Soirée.
